Summers went by sooooooo slooooooowly when I was a child. School ended and summer seemed to last for ages. The season was packed with so many things to love - camp, vacation, grilling out, watermelon, swimming pools, and late nights.
As I get older, summer - it changes. I don't know how we stood the heat as children, but I appreciate A/C much more now. In the middle of the day, it's hard to be outside. I now appreciate summer mornings and evenings so much. The bright, warm, comfortable air. The blue skies. The occasional thunderstorm.
But now the season seems to fly by! It's here and gone before I know it. I love the other seasons as well, but am trying my best to ENJOY my summers. To FEEL them, and notice them, and not let them pass by silently so that I find myself in autumn wondering why I didn't love my summer. It's no wonder the summers disappear so quickly - I go to work, come home, eat dinner, go to bed.
I am trying to make myself do more summer things - picnics, watermelon, grilling, water park, pool, evenings outside, etc.
Must. Enjoy. Summer.
